The 2017 Audi A6 is one of the luxury automaker’s bread-and-butter products. As such, the lineup is incredibly diverse offering up something for everyone. There are currently three different engine options and two different transmission options on the A6. Available in both front- and all-wheel drive, the base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 producing a healthy 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for front-drive models and an eight-speed automatic for the all-wheel-drive version. Available only with all-wheel drive, a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 that makes 333-340 hp (depending on trim), and 325 lb-ft is also available. An eight-speed automatic is the only available transmission for the six-cylinder A6. Also available is a high-power V-8 in the sporty S6 model. The 2017 Audi S6 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 good for 450 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2017 A6 with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is EPA-rated 24/34/28 mpg city/highway/combined in front-wheel-drive models, and 22/31/25 mpg for all-wheel drive versions. The 2017 A6 with the supercharged V-6 is slightly less efficient, netting 21/29/24 mpg, while the twin-turbo V-8 in the S7 scores 17/27/21 mpg.
No matter the engine choice, all Audi A6 sedans are quick, roomy, and feature gorgeously crafted interiors, available with a mix of leather, wood, and metal trims. Technology is a big part of the A6 lineup too, with features like Google Maps and Wi-Fi hotspots available as extras.
