Slotting below the larger GS, the 2017 Lexus IS is the Lexus brand’s entry-level compact luxury sports sedan. Rear-wheel drive comes standard and all-wheel drive is optional on all but the base IS 200t. The models in the 2017 Lexus IS lineup include the rear-drive IS 200t, all-wheel-drive IS 300, rear-drive IS 350, and all-wheel-drive IS 350, with F Sport variants of each model.
Three engine choices are available in the 2017 Lexus IS including a 241-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four in the IS 200t, a 255-hp 3.5-liter V-6 in the IS 300, and a 306-hp 3.5-liter V-6 in the IS 350. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard on the IS 200t and the rear-drives IS 350. The IS 300 AWD and the IS 350 AWD, on the other hand, use a six-speed unit. EPA fuel economy ratings are 22/32 mpg city/highway for the IS 200t, 19/28 mpg for the rear-drive IS 350, and 19/26 mpg for the IS 300 AWD and IS 350 AWD. Trunk space is on the small side at 10.8 cubic feet but it can be expanded via the standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
Standard features include a 7-inch screen for the infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, a moonroof, LED headlights, keyless entry/start, leatherette upholstery, and 10-speaker audio system. Options include a rearview camera, navigation with a 10.3-inch screen and touch pad controls, a Mark Levinson premium audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and parking sensors. The F Sport package adds a sport suspension, a center gauge cluster inspired by the LFA supercar, high-friction brake pads, F Sport front sport seats, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, aluminum pedals, and a perforated leather steering wheel. On the IS 350, the F Sport package also adds adaptive suspension and a Sport S+ mode.
